The new school year (it starts in January) is well under way in Zimbabwe, as is the 2024 Eco Club run by the Ecological Custodians Foundation at Chiswene primary in the south western low veld!

Di Drummond a founder of EGF wrote that  “We have UZ (University of Zimbabwe) students Delma & Eugene taking the classes this year. The new batch of children are very keen, and its exciting to see how this work continues to go onwards and upwards !  I am still making good use of your books. Next week each child will get their own copy of the Vulture booklet, which Delma & Eugene will go through with them.  They learn a lot from those booklets & it’s special for them to be able to take their own copy home. ”

Chiswene and the other local schools assisted by EGF are isolated, with poor infrastructure.  With help from their visitors EGF is constructing proper classrooms to give children and teachers a safe and comfortable learning environment.  They have put a roof on one new classroom block, and are finishing up the floors. “The children have been using the room still with only back filling on the floors – rainy days & they needed shelter ! ”
