Our latest resource was requested by teachers and CTPH – Conservation Through Public Health – community workers in Bwindi, Uganda. They saw our other Living with Wildlife materials and asked if we’d produce a mountain gorilla booklet, for their schools and community work. They said that most of the remote rural schools still have limited teaching and learning materials, so for the children to have resources on a species that is so important in their landscape and communities is invaluable. The children and their parents, though living close to, and occasionally encountering mountain gorillas do not have access to the close up images people around the world are used to seeing, nor all of the information that is readily available to many. We’re excited to get printed copies out to their rural schools for the new year, and to the environment clubs of RWCA in Rwanda as well.
