Bats are very misunderstood creatures. Often people see large bats and think they are birds, which is not surprising, as some species measure 1m from the tip of one wing to the other!

People also see small bats and think they are insects, which is equally unsurprising, as the smallest of all mammals is a bat, and it is the size of a tiny coin!

Bats are fascinating and worth learning about, we actually depend on them for many things.

It is for these reasons that we got together with Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association (RWCA) to make a Bat resource booklet.  It is full of captivating close up photos, sound recordings and fun facts and can now be viewed or downloaded in full on our Living with Wildlife, Resources page.
